Dumb and dumber? College students lack literacy for complex tasks

Lack of literacy for complex tasks. I think this is a world-wide problem or trend. In the class I taught last year, 2nd year programming class, I found the average skill is degrading compared to the previous years. It's not lack of literacy per se, but are we getting dumb and dumber?
You know, maybe I should tell my students to migrate? Maybe they can graduate there? [smile] ;-)
